Environment

Reflection X version 13.0 through 14.x

Situation

In Reflection X 14.x, if you are using multiple monitors, you may want the root window to appear in only one monitor, rather than span across all monitors. This technical note explains how to adjust the root window size to fit one monitor.

Resolution

Enabling Multiple Monitor Option

Follow the steps below for your product version to adjust the root window size to fit one monitor.

Version 14.x

Follow these steps to configure the monitor value:

  1. Click Settings > Window Manager.
  2. For Window mode, select "X terminal desktop," and click OK.
  3. Click Settings > X Screen.
  4. Change the value for "Place it on monitor(s)..." to the monitor wanted, and click OK.

Version 13.x

Follow these steps to specify the number of windows you want to be used:

  1. Click Settings > Window Manager.
  2. For Window mode, select "X terminal desktop," and click OK.
  3. In the Reflection X Manager, click Settings > X Screen.
  4. Use the options in the X Screen Settings dialog box to specify the number of X screens you want to display, the dimensions of the screens, and which monitor you would like Reflection X to physically place an X screen on. (To span two or more monitors with a single X screen, use the All option.)

For further details, click Help.

  1. Click OK.
