Environment

Redline 3.1 Build 949 +
Vertigo 1.1.4.0

Situation

How do you setup Redline to monitor Vertigo auditing?

Resolution

1) Login to Vertigo and Connect to the GroupWise system.
2) Click on Settings | Auditing
3) Select one of the two options of your choice:
  • Use Redline for Auditing. If unavailable, auto fall-back to text auditing.
  • Use Redline for Auditing. If unavailable, shutdown Vertigo.

Configure Redline Auditing Settings.
4) Enter in the ipaddress (or host name of the Redline server)
5) Select the port that Redline Control Center is currently listening on (default is 6900)
6) Specify the number in seconds of the server timeout. (300 is default and is recommended)

Registration
There are 2 methods on how to configure this:

Note: The Vertigo auditing fields for Redline integration can only hold up to 20 maximum characters.. If the company name in Redline is more than 20 characters the upload of the rlcenter.conf file will not work with the integration of Redline and Vertigo. If this is the case please proceed to use Method 2 instead and it will work just fine.

Method 1
Upload the Redline Control Center Conf file.
To upload locate the the Redline Control Center configuration file. (rlcenter.conf)  Browse to the rlcenter.conf file (found on the Redline Control Center Server /opt/beginfinite/redline/conf) After selecting the file it will automatically fill in the Registration Name and Code.

Method 2
If you wish to enter them in manually leave the Registration Details blank and fill in the next 2 fields.
Registration Name: This is the name of the Control Center. This must be exactly what it states within the Control Center in order to properly register.
You can find the name of this Registration Name under Configure|License within the Redline Control Center interface.

Note: As mentioned above the Vertigo auditing fields can only hold up to 20 characters. If the company name is more than 20 characters in Redline copy and paste it into the Vertigo Registration Name field. Typing in the company name will not work. It must be copied directly from the Redline Control Center. The name will be truncated, but will still work even though it does not show the full company name. Development has been notified of this issue and changes will be made in future revisions of Vertigo.

Registration Code: This is the code of the Control Center. his must be exactly what it states within the Control Center in order to properly register. You can find the code of this Registration Name under Configure | License within the Control Center interface.

Once done correctly the actual Vertigo agent will show up in the within the Redline Control Center as one of the agents.

Note: You do not need a Redline agent on the box with Vertigo. Vertigo will register to the Control Center itself after the auditing settings are completed.
